A case-study of language-specific executive disorder

Executive control is recruited for language processing, particularly in complex linguistic tasks. Although the issue of existence an executive specific to still open issue, there much evidence that executively-demanding tasks rely on domain-general rather than language-specific resources. Here, we addressed this by assessing verbal and non-verbal capacities LG, aphasic patient after a stroke. First, showed LG’s performance was spared all regardless demands. Second, contrasting conditions high low demand tasks, LG only impaired task with demand. The dissociation between domain, not observed shows partly dissociates from control. This disorder suggests some processes might be language-specific.
